Fireplace Conversations When the Sun Goes Down is based on the Stebel House, designed by self taught maverick" architect Harry Gesner in 1961.
Situated in Mandeville Canyon, in Los Angeles, it overlooks the canyon and is surrounded by lush forest. 
 
The striking features of this house are the A-frame design, the highest of which is 20ft. And of course, the sunken conversation pit with the fireplace overlooking the canyon, which was designed to seamlessly blend nature and design together.
 
Originally designed for writer Sidney Stebel and his wife, artist Jan Stebel, the home is one of California's most preserved pieces of Mid Century architectural history.
